The Mennonite, Inc., welcomes original submissions for the June 2018 issue focusing on Costly Discipleship.   When Jesus called people to follow him, he told them to “count the cost” (Luke 14:25-33), and when foretelling his death and resurrection, he told his disciples, “If any want to become my followers, let them deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me” (Mark 8:34). The Pacific Northwest Mennonite Historical Society extends an open invitation to its annual meeting and luncheon, Saturday, January 20, 12:00 p.m. at Zion Mennonite Church, Hubbard, OR. The theme, Conscience over Convenience, will highlight stories from World War II’s Civilian Public Service program.
