In her new role, Marlene will be connecting with Young Adults to explore service opportunities as well as organizations and churches interested in hosting international young adults as part of the International Volunteer Exchange Program (IVEP). Sing Your Own Messiah!

Zion Mennonite Church, 6124 S Whiskey Hill Rd, Hubbard, invites you to their annual Sing Your Own Messiah on Saturday, December 22 at 7:00pm. The event will be directed by retired Canby High School music teacher Tom Gingerich and include selections from Handel’s Messiah with accompaniment on piano and strings by members of the Stegmeier family. The production is free and open to singers and listeners, and sheet music is available to share. Donations gladly accepted to pay instrumentalists and soloists. Refreshments following. Zion has hosted this event annually for at least 16 years. It all started in the 1970’s, when missionaries of the Christian Missionary Alliance in what was then the country of Upper Volta asked their friends in the Mennonite Central Committee, also working in Upper Volta (the name was changed to Burkina Faso in 1984), if they could send missionary linguists to the southwestern province of Kenedougou, by the border with Mali and Ivory Coast. Rick Leroy Troyer passed from this earth into the arms of his Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, October 16th at 10am. Rick was born in Milford, NE to Cloy and Norma Jean Troyer on July 18th, 1955.
