Goshen College staff Jim Brenneman and Lee Snyder plan to be in the Pacific Northwest for a meeting with interested persons on Saturday, May 14. One of the hopes on our wish list is for Jim and Lee to be able to connect with Conference and Church leaders on the topic of “The Future of Mennonite Higher Education.” The breakfast meeting will take place at 8 AM on May 14 at the Country Cottage in Woodburn, OR. Salem Mennonite Church will host the Salvadoran Human Rights Association (ASDEHU) 2016 speaking tour on Thursday, March 10 at 7pm. Bethany Loberg, of SMC, currently works as an interpreter for the organization and will be at the event entitled “The New Generation of Salvadoran Human Rights Defenders—Standing up to Disappearance in the Midst of Violence”. The Passion According to Saint Luke, the moving, live production performed by Leonardo Defilippis, will be presented at Lebanon Mennonite Church on Tuesday, March 15 at 7:00 p.m. Come experience the profound power of Christ’s Passion in this drama which promises to be a perfect Lenten opportunity, allowing the power of the Word of God to penetrate the heart of each individual audience member. Help Western Mennonite School’s A cappella Choir attend the annual Mennonite Schools Council (MSC) Choir Festival in Kalona, Iowa this year! The festival will be held in April, and will be hosted by Iowa Mennonite School.   This is the highlight of our year as students have the opportunity to sing in a mass choir of about 450 students from other private, Mennonite schools across the country (and Canada!).  14 different schools will be represented, and will collaborate to present a combined concert at the end of the festival.
